United States of America: Amendment of INVEST in America Act to include several cybersecurity measures

The INVEST in America Act H.R. 3684 was revised by the US Senate. Among many measures in various sectors the act includes the following cybersecurity measures which were not present in earlier versions of the act: In section 11510 the establishment of a cybersecurity tool to assist transportation authorities with cyber incidents and the creation of a cyber coordinator by the Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration. In section 25022 the assessment and implementation of a cybersecurity risk management strategy by the Secretary of Transportation. In Division D - Energy, Subtitle B - Cybersecurity: provisions for enhancing grid security of electric utility. The programs are on a voluntary basis for private businesses. In section 50113 the creation of a prioritization framework to identify public water systems crucial for health and safety and a cybersecurity support plan.
