Russia: Adopted Ministry of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media list of domestic applications for pre-installation

On 22 August 2022, the Ministry of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media adopted an order including the list of domestic applications that should be pre-installed on technological products according to Federal Law No 425-FZ. In particular, on smartphones and tablets, the applications Yandex.Browser, Yandex.Maps, 2GIS, Yandex.Disk, Mail.ru Mail, ICQ, voice assistant Marusya, Mail.ru News, OK Life, VKontakte social networks, Odnoklassniki, Mir Pay payment system, Public Services, MyOffice Documents, Kaspersky Lab antivirus, LitRes book service, will have to be installed. The manufacturers of TV sets will have to pre-install Yandex, Rutube, VK Video, online cinemas Ivi, Premier, KinoPoisk, Wink, Okko, More TV, Start, Channel One application, NTV , Smotrim(VGTRK). The order comes into force on 1 January 2023.
