Ratification of CPTPP by Brunei

On 13 May 2023, Brunei Darussalam sent the official document notifying New Zealand, as the Depositary of the Agreement, of the completion of the applicable legal procedures for the entry into force of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) for Brunei. The CPTPP contains numerous provisions affecting the digital economy, including, for example, chapters on e-commerce and telecommunications. The CPTPP will enter into force for Brunei 60 days after the date of notification.
