Adopted a common position under 7th Japan-Germany ICT Policy Dialogue

On 21 June 2023, Japan and Germany held a meeting as part of the Japan-Germany Information Communications Technology (ICT) Policy Dialogue between the Japan Ministry for Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and the Federal Ministry of Digital Transport of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMDV). The 7th policy dialogue between Japan and Germany focused on open RAN security, Beyond 5G/6G development efforts, artificial intelligence (AI) guidelines, high-speed communication on high-speed routes, and public-private collaborations. Both countries emphasised the importance of cooperation and shared their respective initiatives in these areas. The dialogue aimed to deepen Japanese-German collaboration in the fields of technology and innovation, paving the way for future cooperation on issues such as countering illegal information, smart cities, and the metaverse.
