Description

Introduced Bill Securing and Regulating the Digital Space including cybersecurity regulation

On 10 May 2023, the Bill Securing and Regulating the Digital Space including cybersecurity regulation, was introduced in the Senate of France. The Bill aims to transpose obligations outlined in the European Digital Service Act (DSA) and the Digital Markets Act (DMA) to align national laws with these regulations. Under the Bill, an anti-scam cybersecurity filter would be established by creating a database containing reported malicious websites identified by victims and reported to administrative authorities. A 5-day grace period would be given to contested sites to challenge their classification as malicious, as long as the site owner can be contacted. French citizens attempting to access such malicious websites would receive a warning message.
