United States of America: Introduced Florida Digital Bill of Rights (SB 262) including data protection regulation

The Bill aims at enhancing technology transparency by establishing key definitions such as biometric information, controller and processor, de-identified and genetic information, and personal information and establishing data rights. The Bill outlines requirements for data controllers for collecting personal data and would require establishing reasonable security measures to safeguard personal data. Additionally, the Bill asserts consumers' privacy rights, including the ability to request personal data deletion or correction. Further, Bill would establish the individuals right to opt out of their data being sold or shared with third parties.
