Issued ruling on validity of interim measures against Trendyol for self-preferencing by Ankara Administrative Court

On 25 May 2022, the 9th Administrative Court of Ankara ruled on the validity of the interim measures imposed by the Turkish Competition Board against Trendyol, Turkiye's largest e-commerce provider, for self-preferencing its own retail services on its online marketplace platform. The court found that only the interim measures concerning the adjustment of Trendyol's algorithm to treat its own products in a preferential matter were mostly justified. Both the interim measures against Trendyol's use of non-public data and discrimination between retailers were cancelled.
