Brazil: Introduced Bill 4723/20 amending General Data Protection Law, including data localisation requirements

On 25 September 2020, Bill 4723/20, amending General Data Protection Law, including data localisation requirements, was introduced in the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil. In particular, the Bill would require the personal data of Brazilian residents to be stored within the country. Furthermore, the Bill would prohibit entities from using cloud computing services for processing personal data if the data is stored outside the country in that process.
