Entry into force of amendment to Network Act including requirement to appoint local responsible person

On 10 December 2020, Law No. 17358, amending the Network Act (Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection) to prevent digital sex crimes, entered into force with a grace period of 6 months. In particular, the Law requires information network service providers, including foreign providers, to appoint a local person responsible for the prevention of the distribution of illegally filmed materials depicting sexually exploitative materials.
