Introduced amendment to Network Act including requirement to appoint local responsible person
On 4 May 2020, Bill No. 2024923, amending the Network Act (Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection) to prevent digital sex crimes, was introduced in the National Assembly of Korea. In particular, the Bill would require information network service providers, including foreign providers, to appoint a local person responsible for the prevention of the distribution of illegally filmed materials depicting sexually exploitative materials.
