On 11 August 2016, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation (FAS) determined the exact fine against Google for abusing its dominance in the mobile devices market. Google was sanctioned with a fine of RUB 438 million after Google was found guilty on 18 September 2015. Specifically, Google implemented clauses into contracts with producers of mobile devices that oblige the producers to pre-install certain applications and set Google as the default search engine. Furthermore, Google gave its own applications a preferential screen location on mobile devices. The opening of this investigation followed a complaint made by Yandex to the FAS.
