On 20 February 2015, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation (FAS) opened an investigation into Google for allegedly abusing its dominance in the mobile devices market. Specifically, Google is alleged to have implemented clauses into contracts with producers of mobile devices that oblige the producers to pre-install certain applications and set Google as the default search engine. Furthermore, Google is alleged to give its own applications a preferential screen location on mobile devices. The opening of this investigation follows a complaint made by Yandex to the FAS.
