United Kingdom: Closed consultation on Artificial Intelligence in Weapons Systems

The Committee sought to gather information on the issues regarding the creation of Automated Weapons Systems (AWS), including the challenges, risks and benefits related to AWS. Furthermore, the Committee gathered information on the technical, legal and ethical safeguards necessary to ensure that AWS is used safely, reliably and accountably. Finally, stakeholders were invited to provide information regarding the applicability of the current UK regulation and international policymaking on AWS and its compliance with International Humanitarian Law.
