Adopted ICO Guideline on AI and Data Protection

On 15 March 2023, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) updated its guideline on "AI and Data Protection", addressing fairness standards. Specifically, questions around accountability, transparency, lawfulness, accuracy, and fairness were updated further to support the industry's lawful use of AI technologies. For instance, the guideline clarifies the difference between bias, discrimination, fairness, and algorithmic fairness. The guideline also presents ways to reduce bias and what trade-off considerations must be made when designing the algorithm.
