Republic of Korea: Announced Korea-UAE Digital Economy Agreement

On 15 March 2023, authorities from the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates held the First Trade and Investment Promotion Framework (TIPF) meeting, where they discussed areas of potential bilateral cooperation, including in the field of digital trade. In particular, the authorities highlighted the importance of promoting the negotiation of a Digital Economy Agreement announced by both governments on January 2023, following the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding.
