United States of America: Announced CISA Ransomware Vulnerability Warning Pilot

On 13 March 2023, the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) announced the establishment of the “Ransomware Vulnerability Warning Pilot” (RVWP), aiming to examine vulnerabilities commonly associated with ransomware exploitation and warn critical infrastructure entities with vulnerabilities to enable mitigation before a ransomware incident occurs. The RVWP is authorised under the Cyber Incident Reporting for Critical Infrastructure Act passsed in 2022.
