On 6 August 2021, the initiative "Protect Living Space - Regulate Airbnb" was initiated in the city of Lucerne after being supported by a sufficient number of signatures. The initiative aims to restrict Airbnb rentals in the city of Lucerne. The initiative would require temporary rentals of accommodation to be limited to 90 days per year.
