Opened consultation on Draft Telecommunications Law including Data Protection Regulation

On 27 October 2022, the government opened a consultation on the draft Telecommunications Law until 27 December 2022. The draft includes data protection provisions for OTT Telecom services that are defined as "internet application services in telecom". OTT Telecom service providers are required to determine which data is necessary and sufficient to collect and process to provide the expected services. Additionally, once that data is defined, the user is entitled to be informed. Only once the user provides explicit consent can OTT service providers access and use the information.
