Introduced Consumer Data Privacy Act (SB 2330)

On 17 January 2022, the Consumer Data Privacy Act (SB 2330) was introduced in the Mississippi State Senate. Under the Act, businesses collecting consumer information would be required to inform consumers about the type and origin of collected personal information, the purpose behind the sale and collection of personal data and finally, the third party’s personal information is shared. In addition, consumers would have the right to deletion, information, access, and rectification of information.
