Adopted the Summary & Outcome Document of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors on international cooperation on crypto-assets

On 25 February 2023, India, as current holder of the G20 Presidency, released the Summary & Outcome Document of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting held in Bengaluru from 22 to 25 February 2023. The summary includes a section that welcomed the work by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) on crypto-assets, as well as the FSB’s report on decentralised finance (DeFi) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Discussion Paper on macro-financial implications of crypto-assets. The summary document looked forward recommendations by the FSB on regulating and monitoring crypto-assets to be presented in the next 2023 FMCBG, and to the joint IMF-FSB Synthesis paper on policy approaches, economic perspectives, and risks posed by crypto-assets.
