Description

National Council approves of amended Film Act including local content requirement

The Swiss National Council has approved the amended Film Act that introduces a requirement for streaming platforms to reserve 30 per cent of their catalogue for European content. The obligation applies to companies that bear editorial responsibility in the selection of their content, but not to platforms that only provide user-generated content. This means that the obligation would not apply to video-sharing platforms.
