Opened negotiations on EU-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement including data protection regulation

On 21 June 2018, the European Union (EU) and New Zealand started negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement. In particular, the parties aim to discuss digital trade and measures to ensure the individuals' personal data and privacy protection. Furthermore, the parties aim to discuss transparency requirements to ensure the private sector compliance with the data protection requirements established in the jurisdiction.
