On 17 November 2022, the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) published an updated guidance on international data transfers. ICO included sections on transfer risk assessments, as well as a tool to assess the risk of international data transfers. The ICO stated that the updated guidance provides an alternative approach to the one by the European Data Protection Board. The guidance establishes initial risk levels for different types of data and elaborates on privacy or human rights breaches when transferring data.
