AEPD publishes Data Protection and Labor Relations Guide including a Prohibition of the Monitoring of Health Data

The Spanish Agency for Data Protection (AEPD) published a Guide on Data Protection and Labor Relations on May 18, 2021. It includes guidance on the application of the General Protection Regulation and the Organic Law on Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD) as well as on general issues typical to the workplace. The guide also includes advice on how to treat employees' social media, whistleblowing, as well the protection of data of employees, that became victims to harassment at work. Finally, it also includes a general prohibition for the tracking of employees' health through wearables.
