Mapping of national rules applicable to video-sharing platforms: illegal and harmful content online

On 14 February 2023, the European Commission published a mapping report, prepared on its behalf by the European Audiovisual Observatory, that provides an analysis of the rules applicable to video-sharing platforms (VSPs) within the European Union. The report, “Mapping of national rules applicable to video-sharing platforms: illegal and harmful content online – 2022 update” analyses the approaches of the EU member states, the United Kingdom and Norway on the rules applicable to VSPs to prevent illegal and harmful content online, with a particular focus on the protection of minors and harmful content inciting violence or hatred.
