Adoption of the EU-Singapore Digital Trade Principles

On 1 February 2023, the EU and Singapore signed the first deliverable under the EU-Singapore Digital Partnership (EUSDP), the EU-Singapore Digital Trade Principles. This followed the conclusion of negotiations on the EUSDP in December 2022. The EU-Singapore Digital Trade Principles are a non-binding statement of common understanding regarding a number of goals for digital trade, such as facilitating digital trade and data flows and establishing consumer trust. The parties also state that the Digital Trade Principles are a first step towards a digital trade agreement.
