Introduced Bill Regulating Digital Platforms (PL 2768/2022)

On 10 November 2022, the Draft Bill Regulating Digital Platforms (PL 2768/2022) was introduced in the Brazilian House of Representatives (Chamber of Deputies). The Draft Bill amends the Brazilian Telecommunications Law to empower the National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) to regulate digital platforms. The bill gives ANATEL the power to supervise the operation of digital platforms, including regulatory and administrative powers, including to manage conflicts of interest between operators and professional users, violations of users' rights, and the power to exercise legal actions for all infractions that are not the responsibility of the Administrative Council for Economic Defence (CADE).
