Description

Adopted Digital Decade Policy Programme 2030 by the European Parliament

On 24 November 2022, the European Parliament adopted the Digital Decade Policy Programme 2030. The Programme seeks to coordinate the European Union's collective advancements in the four areas identified in the Digital Compass Communication. The areas include improving digital skills, supporting the development of digital infrastructure and technologies, such as cloud, artificial intelligence and data, digitalisation of businesses and the digitalisation of public services. In order to monitor these developments, the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) shall be integrated into the report on the state of the Digital Decade, and key performance indicators (KPIs) shall be set out in implementing acts to be adopted by the Commission. The Programme specifies details and procedures concerning joint commitments between the Commission and the Member States.
