Description

15 US State Attorneys General send letter to Apple and Google to correct TikTok age rating

On 16 December 2022, 15 State Attorneys General called on Apple and Google to take immediate action and correct their app store age ratings of TikTok by the end of the year. The Attorneys General sent letters to both companies outlining the deceptive nature of the current ratings for TikTok on their app stores. In particular, they call to increase the rage rating to "17+" from the current “12+” which would inadequately characterise the content children are exposed to on TikTok.
