United Arab Emirates: Announced UK-Dubai International Financial Centre data partnership

On 15 December 2022, the United Kingdom government and the Dubai International Financial Centre Authority (DIFC) released a joint statement on the UK-DIFC data partnership. The statement aims to deepen the partnership between the parties and enable the free and secure transfer of personal data. The parties will conduct an assessment of the data protection laws in order to adopt an adequacy decision to allow for cross-border data transfers.
