China: Implemented Provisions on the Administration of Deep Synthesis of Internet Information Services including content moderation regulation

On 10 January 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Public Security implemented the Provisions on the Administration of Deep Synthesis of Internet Information Services, including content moderation regulation. The Provisions prohibit the use of deep synthesis services to produce or disseminate prohibited information and false news, or any activity endangering national security, public interest, and national image.
