Description

Implemented resolution outlining maximum fine allocation (244/2022)

On 6 December 2022, the resolution 244/2022 clarifying the maximum fines that will be applied for data protection requirements violations, enters into force. The Argentinian data protection authority noted that if an infringement occurs more than once or different infringements are counted on the same level, there is an overall limit to the fines. This decision was made to avoid unreasonable fines that would unnecessarily and unproportionately burden the involved entities. The maximum penalties for "minor" offenses will be ARS 3 million, the "serious" will be fined a maximum ARS 10 million, and the "very serious" offenses will face a maximum ARS 15 million.
