Announced UK-Japan Digital Partnership including content moderation regulation

On 7 December 2022, the United Kingdom and Japan announced the launch of a Digital Partnership, including commitments regarding online safety. Under the Partnership, the parties will adopt policies to combat the dissemination of illegal and harmful content online while upholding fundamental human rights, such as freedom of speech. Furthermore, the parties will cooperate and share information to address disinformation and increase media literacy.
