Announced UK-Japan Digital Partnership, including data protection authority governance

On 7 December 2022, the United Kingdom and Japan announced the launch of a Digital Partnership, including commitments to increase collaboration between the Data Protection Authorities (DPA). The parties aim to provide regulatory clarity regarding data protection obligations to the private sector. Furthermore, the DPA will cooperate in setting standards regarding user-centred design and design systems obligations, digital procurement reform and government cloud services.
