Adopted Republic of Korea and European Union Digital Partnership including competition measures

On 28 November 2022, the European Union and the Republic of Korea adopted the EU-Republic of Korea Digital Partnership. The treaty enshrines the Parties' political commitment to a set of shared values and objectives connected to the development of a digital society. Digital platform regulation is one of the key areas for which joint actions are outlined in the treaty. The Parties agree to share knowledge on digital platform regulation and explore potential closer cooperation in the enforcement of digital platform regulations, including algorithmic transparency requirements, while retaining full regulatory autonomy.
