European Union: Adoption of EU foreign investment screening mechanism

The European Commission issues regulation 2019/452, which establishes a framework for the screening of foreign direct investments. It includes a cooperation mechanism between Member States and the Commission and encourages international cooperation. It further introduces notification and reporting requirements on Member States concerning foreign investments in the country and related decisions.
