China: Implemented Notice on Effectively Strengthening the Governance of Cyber ​​Violence

On 4 November 2022, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) issued the Notice on Effectively Strengthening the Governance of Cyber ​​Violence. The Notice directs website operators to take stricter measures against cyberbullying, such as restricting website access. In addition, it proposes measures including implementing an early warning system to detect cyberbullying by building a database of examples, a requirement for websites to establish a task force to collect information related to internet violence, and a fast reporting channel for internet users to lodge complaints or reports.
