Japan: Opened consultation on draft updated METI Cybersecurity Management Guidelines

On 26 October 2022, the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) opened a public consultation on a draft version of the updated Cybersecurity Management Guidelines (V3.0) until 6 December 2022. The draft Guidelines apply to Japanese companies and provide guidance on implementing general cybersecurity measures, such as a risk management system, safeguards, incident response, and supply chain security. Compared to the previous version, the draft Guidelines contain, among other points, updated guidance regarding supply chain security and stakeholder notification.
