Published ICO Guidance on direct marketing using electronic mail

On 21 October 2022, the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) published the Guidance on direct marketing using electronic mail (Guidance), which provides information on how to comply with the “Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (as amended)” (PECR). In particular, the Guidance provides recommendations for companies in relation to the sending of electronic mail for direct marketing purposes to ensure their compliance with PERC.
