United Kingdom: Adopted updated guidance for approval of Binding Corporate Rules under UK GDPR

On 25 July 2022, the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) published a guidance for the approval of Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs) for data transfers within multinational businesses under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The new guidance aims to streamline the application process for UK BCRs and simplify requirements previously tied to EU law. The new guidance supersedes all previous documents and guidance by the ICO.
