Opened investigation into Tapnet's failure to comply with information request

On 29 September 2022, the Office of Communications (Ofcom), the UK regulator for the communications industries, opened an investigation into Tapnet, a video sharing platform (VPS) provider which operates the “RevealMe” platform. On 6 June 2022, Ofcom had sent requests for information to several VPS in order to understand and monitor the measures they have implemented to protect users and to publish a report based on the information provided. Since Tapnet failed to submit the required information, Ofcom’s investigation will examine whether there are reasonable grounds for believing that Tapnet has failed to comply with its duties in relation to the information request.
