United States of America: Introduced Oklahoma Filter Bubble Transparency Act of 2022 (HB 3010)

On 10 January 2022, the Oklahoma Filter Bubble Transparency Act of 2022 was introduced to the House of Representatives. The Bill outlines regulations on the operation of internet platforms, "algorithmic ranking systems", and "opaque algorithms" that process users' data without consent. In particular, the Bill would require platforms collecting users' data with the purpose of making inferences and providing them tailored content to mention such practices in their terms and conditions and make the information public. In case of non-compliance, the Attorney General and District Attorneys would be empowered to bring actions.
