Implemented Revised Ordinance on Data Certifications (VDSZ)

On 1 September 2023, the revised Data Ordinance on Data Protection Certifications (VDSZ) is implemented. The Ordinance details how to obtain Data Protection Certifications and which foreign standards are deemed secure enough for the Federal Personal Data Protection Act. The types of services that can be certified are management systems, and services relating to the retention, processing, and transfer of data. Once certification is obtained, the Ordinance allows for a cross-border data transfer.
