United Kingdom: Consultation closes on cybersecurity requirements for self-driving vehicles in Connected and automated mobility 2025

On 14 October 2022, the United Kingdom (UK) Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV) closed the public consultation on the "Connected and automated mobility 2025: realising the benefits of self-driving vehicles". In its report, the CCAV stressed the need for new safety and cybersecurity standards for autonomous vehicles before their deployment and during their use on public roads. The report lists the cyber risks that should be addressed in the legislation and by regulators. The stakeholders were invited to submit their comments and elaborate on standards that autonomous vehicles have to meet, the best ways to ensure the interoperability of the vehicles, and ways to address security risks.
