Order issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of India blocking 8 YouTube channels

On 16 August 2022, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting of India issued orders to block eight YouTube-based news channels, such as Loktantra TV, Sarkari Update, and AM Razvi. The Ministry stated that the YouTube channels used forged thumbnails to mislead the viewers and that the videos contained false and sensitive content detrimental to communal harmony, public order, and India’s foreign relations.
