On 17 October 2022, the consultation by the International Trade Administration of the United States Department of Commerce on Artificial Intelligence (‘AI’) measures that could impact exports of AI technology closed. The consultation invited comments on trade barriers in the AI space, challenges in exporting AI products/services, intellectual property protection of AI, and steps to be taken to enable global competitiveness of AI technologies of the United States.
