Guidelines issued by the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority on protection of personal data in the banking sector

On 5 August 2022, the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority published Guidelines on the protection of personal data in the banking sector. The Guideline provides insights on best practices to be adopted for privacy protection in the banking sector, details the legal grounds for processing data in the banking sector, provides direction on the possible content to be included in the data processing agreements, and also gives clarification on cross border transfer of data by banks and other obligations of data controllers.
