Ministry of Transport opens consultation on draft guidelines for transportation safety services for autonomous vehicles

On 8 August 2022, the Ministry of Transport opened a consultation on draft guidelines for transportation safety services for autonomous vehicles, which were published on the same day. The guidelines aim to set out the conditions under which autonomous cars, including electric buses, taxis and trucks, would be allowed to circulate on public roads. In particular, the draft indicates that the operators of autonomous cars will have to register, obtain a business license and demonstrate that the vehicle meets all the safety standards. The stakeholders are invited to submit their comments until 7 September 2022.
