Rejected Personal Data Protection Bill including interoperability requirement

On 3 August 2022, the Indian Government withdrew the Personal Data Protection Bill (2019) which had been pending in the House (Lok Sabha). The Bill would have introduced interoperability requirements for social media intermediaries. In particular, The Bill would have required entities to enable online users to interact with users from other platforms and share information.
