French Data Protection Authority opened investigation against Ubeeqo International

On 12 May 2020, the French Data Protection Authority (Commission Nationale de l'informatique et des Libertés CNIL) opened an investigation against Ubeeqo International, a french company specialising in short-term car rental, for having infringed the privacy rights of its customers. In its investigation, CNIL aims to verify if Ubeeqo’s collection of data geolocation and processing complies with the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
